You've been to Fabric Printing Basics and waited long enough for more in-depth learning. We're finally bringing Fabric Printing 2.0 in March and April to discover more about designing patterns and the varied methods of screenprinting on fabric.
Our aim has always been to debunk misconceptions, from the technique being costly for an average hobbyist to the seemingly impossible task of achieving end results you can be proud of unless the most advanced, professional techniques are practiced. It has since became our passion to share what we know in an inspiring, hands-on setting that would have you eager to continue printing at home.
Step away from the hustle and bustle for 2 days with us at Goodman Arts Centre, where it all started - the former Lasalle campus Hani first experienced fabric printing while studying Fashion Design more than a decade ago and the place we kicked off our classes back in 2013.
We sure hope you could join us, see you soon!

Day 1 | May 13 or July 22 or August 19 | 10am - 2pm
We'll be sharing about the wonderful world of pattern designing and how you can turn your subject matter into a print that's uniquely yours. Plenty of inspiring pattern exercises and a laptop with Adobe Photoshop is required to prepare your final print to be produced into a permanent emulsion screen. Every FP2.0 participant is entitled to sit for another Day 1 session for a refresher or experiment with more pattern exercises.
Day 2 | May 20 or July 29 or Aug 26 | 10am - 2pm
A full day of printing expected as we look into the differences in screenprinting using the stencil, filler and emulsion methods. Collect your very own emulsion screen and experiment with colours before working on your final fabric piece that you can then proudly turn into home products or hang as a wall art.
Standard Fee: $330/person
Any specific skills needed to join the class?
We hear this all the time, "I'm bad at drawing!", yet these participants walk away with a smile plastered on their faces, pleased with their own creations. You may bring visual references and we'll have samples to inspire you throughout the designing process so join in to discover what you can achieve with quality tools and guidance.
Do I have to commit for both days in the same month?
Yes. We won't be able to make exceptions, sorry!
I don't have a laptop or Adobe Photoshop, is it a requirement?
This portion of Day 1 is pretty important so having a laptop with Adobe Photoshop is mandatory. Perhaps you could borrow from someone for a day or simply download the software online through Creative Cloud for as little as $26/month here.
Are all materials provided and will I be bringing home any?
Yes! You'll be bringing home your very own emulsion screen, fabric, inks and other basic tools used during the class.
Can I bring along my own materials such as specific types of fabric?
Of course! Feel free to bring along your own materials from totes to other fabric items and we'll guide you accordingly on ways to print on them.
I have a friend who's interested but he/she hasn't been to Fabric Printing Basics, can he/she still sign up?
Unfortunately, not. All participants must have prior knowledge and experience from Fabric Printing Basics to sign up as there will be many references to the things covered in the basic class.
